Setting Up Gmail on iOS

Let’s walk through how to set up Gmail on your iPhone or iPad. Having the Gmail app is helpful for when you need to check your email but don’t have access to a laptop.

  1. Open the App Store

  • Tap Search in the bottom-right part of the screen. Type Gmail into the search field.
  1. Select Gmail and click Get

  • You can now tap Open in the location where the Get and Install buttons had been.
  1. When a window appears saying “Gmail Would Like to Send You Notifications”, you can tap allow to let the app send you notifications to your phone when you receive mail.

  • Tap Sign In at the bottom of the screen. Add your Gmail account by tapping + Add Account at the bottom of the list and entering your Gmail address and password.
  • Tap Done in the upper left corner of the screen

Setting Up Gmail on Android

  1. Open the App Drawer by swiping up from the dock or tapping the App Drawer icon

  1. Go to Accounts → Add Account and then select Google

  1. Enter your password, fingerprint, or pattern, and enter your Gmail address at the Add Your Account screen. Tap Next.

  1. Select Agree on the Terms of Service page. You can skip adding payment information by selecting No Thanks
  2. Once finished, you’ll return to the Accounts in Settings. You can view or delete accounts by tapping Google
