Course Goals

1. Provide an introduction to 3D Printing uses and the related concepts and skills
2. Increase interest in 3D design and 3D printing
3. Teach 3D design skills using introductory level web-based design tools

1. Understand practical uses of 3D printing in a variety of industries
2. Demonstrate basic navigation of Tinkercad for designing simple objects
3. Gain a general understanding of what 3D printing is and how it can be used
4. Identify the parts of a 3D printer and their function
5. Describe basic 3D printer maintenance and the proper way to use a 3D printer
6. Understand the primary differences between 2D design and 3D design
7. Identify common issues with 3D design that might cause printing problems
8. Demonstrate the ability to create successful designs for 3D printing using Tinkercad and other 3D design tools
